Hold Down Layouts are easier to do with AutoCAD LT:
Hold downs are done after the detailing for the windows and doors is completed. Drop the blocks for the hold downs into the drawing from Design Center and then dimension them on the proper layers. The Hold Down print and the Detail print are the exact same area. If you look closely in the Detail PDF file you will see the hold downs next to the posts. The blocks for detailing and the hold downs are available as part of the block library purchase.
When you receive electronic plans from an architect the area for the stairs may look like this (as usual, click the image linked to the PDF file):
After you work with the floor plan to get it like it will be plated and all the changes have been made the same area may look like this:
But all that really tells you is where they go and some of the dimensions for the radii. What you really need is this:
The PDF file is a lot clearer. The dimensions starting at the bottom and proceeding up the horses give an accurate way to construct the horses or a pattern for horses that is based on math and subsequently using the framing square with "Stair Angles". This produces very accurate stairs and takes about 60 seconds in AutoCAD LT. On the section drawing there is an added set for the basement that started out looking like a straight set. The straight set was subsequently broken up into the actual 3 runs. This particular project had many different finish floor conditions and with LT it was very easy to use the actual Finish Floor to Finish Floor drawn graphically to full scale and then "Divide" that distance into the riser dimensions. You can see the line of dots in the PDF file to the left of the stairs that was the output of the divide command. There is a video for purchase that shows this whole process.
